With only a few hours to go, it's time to finalise my 2015 goals!
Everyone in the blogosphere tends to be really into goal setting, particularly at this time of year. I've never been adverse to setting goals, I just haven't really felt the need in the past. I tend to achieve most things in a reasonable timeframe if I set my mind to it, but I seldom get aroud to formalising my intentions.
However, because I've got a lot of vague "I'd really like to do more of ________" ideas floating around my head, some of which have been rattling around in there a long while, I have decided that 2015 will be the year I set some formal goals.
I've been brainstorming them over the past few weeks, and upon reflection, I'm satisfied that they all meet the SMART framework for goalsetting.
1. Read 52 books.
2. Finish the first draft of my book.
3. Write in my 365 Journal daily.
4. Mail cards (on time!) for all immediate family birthdays.
5. Complete a quilt.
6. Daily meditation.
7. Get (and stay!) debt free.
8. Blog three times per week.
9. Take 5000 steps per day.
10. Send one email / letter a week to "catch up" with old friends.
I'll track my progress for the recurring goals on a few copies of this awesome chart and do the best I can. I'm a bit worried that I've given myself too many daily goals, but none of them are too time consuming, and as Elise says, it's about progress, not perfection
Whether you have fifty goals or one (or none!), wishing you a very happy and fulfilling year ahead. Xx
